The 2024 World Veterans Championships in Las Vegas showcased over 1,100 judoka from 67 nations, with Team Ireland proudly represented by 12 players. This event, held from November 4th to 7th, saw seasoned champions and new team members alike taking to the mat in a fierce competition.

Outstanding Performances:

  • Dermot Killeen—recently promoted to sixth Dan at the Irish Veterans Open—demonstrated his skills with a bronze medal win, repeating his podium success from 2023.
  • Paul Cummins claimed another bronze for Ireland, proving his dedication to the sport.
  • Brian Killeen earned a 5th place finish, while Donal Tannam placed 7th, adding to Ireland’s strong showing.

Team Ireland’s achievements not only highlight their talent and perseverance but also serve as an inspiration to all Irish judoka. We are grateful for their hard work and look forward to cheering them on in 2025!
