There are a spate of Phishing Emails/Scam emails currently circulating purporting to be from IJA Board Members or IJA Staff.

Please take the time to see what the email address has sent you an email, check what the topic is and what the request is.

The IJA has dedicated email address accounts which can be verified on our website, so if in any doubt, please report these emails as Spam/Junk to your email provider

and contact the person in question by phone if possible to verify the content of the email.

Things to look out for regarding Phishing Emails:

  1. Alarming Subject Line
  2. Suspicious Domain Name
  3. Greeting is Generic or Too Personalised
  4. Grammar & Spelling Mistakes
  5. Contains Suspicious Links and Attachments
  6. Requests for Sensitive Information
  7. Communicates a False Sense of Urgency
  8. Contains an Unrealistic Topic of Conversation that may not be relevant

Every organisation and company are facing these issues, so please be vigilant!
