On the 10th of July 2025, we informed clubs of important regulatory changes issued by the National Vetting Bureau (NVB) effective the 7th July 2025, which impact all vetting applications and related procedures.

To ensure compliance and smooth implementation across all clubs and provinces, please take careful note of the following:

Key Changes to Vetting Process

1. New NVB Vetting Form.
A revised vetting application form must now be used. Action: Only submit the new NVB form, available on our website policy page. Older versions will no longer be accepted.

2. Updated Identity Verification Requirements.
The National Vetting Bureau has introduced new procedures for verifying applicants’ identity & address, the IJA is currently finalising these requirements & the implementation of same.

3. Temporary Pause on Vetting Applications.
In order to prepare for the new system and deliver required training, all vetting application processing is paused until 1st September 2025, this pause will allow time to train administrators and vetting officers on the new procedures and allow the IJA to finalise a consistent ID verification process to implement same into the organisation.

4. Updated Vetting Policy Coming Soon.
Our E Vetting Procedures will be updated in line with National Vetting Bureau requirements and published by 1st September 2025.

What You Need to Do Now

Do not submit vetting applications until further notice.

Inform all relevant personnel in your club or province of these changes particularity those members whose vetting has expired or about to expire (three year rule).

Watch for updates to policy documents and relevant materials in the coming weeks on the IJA website.

We appreciate your cooperation as we implement these critical updates to safeguard and strengthen our vetting process in line with government legislation.
