Women in Sport Week – Female Fighter Festival – Birmingham
Ellie Dennis and Liz Dennis attended the Female Fighter Festival in Birmingham to kick start a few weeks of activity within the women in sport week for Judo. There were five female Olympians in attendance including our very own Megan Fletcher.
There were MAster Classes sessions delivered by Megan as well as Natalie Powell, Emma Reid and Sally Conway from Great Britain and Nekoda Smythe Davis from France. There were a broad range of ages and levels of females on the mat with over 100 on Saturday and 80 on Sunday, Genevieve Ryan from North East Judo Academy was in attendance.
Ellie & Liz picked up a few tips to bring home in advance of the IJA Women in Sport Female Fighter Festival to be held on the 17th of May 2026 in Blakestown Community School in Dublin.
