Betty Gibbons RIP
On behalf of the IJA Executive Committee, the IJA Office Staff, the IJA Competitions Commission and the Leinster Judo Council, we sent our deepest condolences to Mr Leo Gibbons on the passing of his mother Betty.
Leo is so well known and respected in Irish Judo alongside his daughter Jodie, we offer our sincerest sympathies to the whole of the Gibbons Family at this sad time.
Funeral Details
Gibbons (née Mulligan), Betty, Finglas East formerly The Thatch Rd., Whitehall. Passed away peacefully in the care of the wonderful staff in Rathborne Nursing Home on 27th July 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her beloved husband Leo, also her sister Rita and her brother Frank. Betty will be very sadly missed and remembered always with love by her family, sons Leo, Karl, Trevor, Ronan and Sean, daughters Sharon and Lynn, her adored 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, daughters-in-law Debbie, Eileen and Denise, sons-in-law Ken and Barry, sister Irene, brothers Sean and Raymond, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and wonderful neighbours on Clancy Road.
Reposing at home on Friday, 31st July from 5pm to 7pm. Removal on Saturday morning to St. Canice’s Church, Main St., Finglas Village, arriving at 9.50am for Requiem Mass at 10.00am, followed by Cremation in Glasnevin Crematorium.
