The Management Committee of the Irish Judo Association met recently, and after careful consideration with the Competitions Commission have decided that the All Ireland Championships, planned for 5th December 2020 is cancelled. This decision was not taken lightly but one taken in the interest of safety based on the current Covid 19 restrictions. The All Ireland Championships are the highlight of our competition calendar and we believe that all players deserve the opportunity to prepare appropriately for it. The Association has secured two dates in the 2021 Calendar for the National Indoor Arena for the 27th March 2021 & 11th December 2021. In due course the Management Committee & Competitions Commission will discuss the hosting of our two major national events in 2021. The Board would encourage the Provincial Boards and Clubs to arrange local events to enable players to experience competition at a local level in the early months of 2021 as we exit out of the Covid 19 restrictions.
