The Irish Judo Association has just recently heard of the passing of Dr Joseph Rea. Dr Rea was well know within the judo circles in Northern Ireland and is credited with the creation of the Northern Ireland Judo Federation logo.
Dr Rea was well known around the judo mat in the 1970’s and a number of our members of that era fondly remember him from Glen Road Judo Club & from judo in St Joseph’s Teacher Training College.
We send our condolences to his family & friends and note the funeral service has already taken place.
