Congratulations to our Contribution Grade Recipients

On behalf of the IJA Grading Commission and the IJA Executive Committee, we extend our congratulations to the following members who received Contribution Grades yesterday, Sunday the 15th December 2019:

Mr Patrick O’Sullivan – 3rd Dan. Patrick from Waterford Judo Club joined the Association in the 1960’s and trained & competed as a player, he continued to contribute to Judo both in Waterford & Cork and was involved in developing the Level 1 & Level 2 coaching programme back in 2012 and is an active member of the Coaching Commission, congratulations Patrick on your promotion.

Mr Maurice Cooper – 4th Dan. Maurice from Paul Cummins School of Judo is the IJA Vice President, the National Children’s Officer and an IJA Referee, he has been a Life Member of the Association for a number of years and has dedicated huge amounts of time and effort to serve his Association, congratulations Maurice on your promotion.

Mr Gerard McCabe – 5th Dan. Gerard from St Peter’s Judo Club has served as a former Regional and National Coach for the Association and has coached a number of High Performance Judoka, he has also sat on previous IJA Executive Committees in the past to include IJA Board Member and Sports Director, congratulations Gerard on your promotion.

Mr Tim Stewart – 4th Dan. Tim from Swords Judo Club has served Club, Regional & National Judo over the past 25 odd years and is well versed in running very successful competitions at club and regional level and has worked behind the scenes at National Events offering assistance & support to his Association, congratulations Tim on your promotion.

Mr Ben Clayden, Hon Gen Secretary made the announcements at the Club Grading Implementation Seminar yesterday and Mr Jack Dennis 7th Dan presented the awards to Mr Maurice Cooper & Mr Patrick O’Sullivan.  Sean Sullivan St Peter’s Judo Club and Leo Gibbons Swords Judo Club will present the contribution grades to Gerard & Tim respectively this week.
