Women in Sport – International Women’s Day – TG4 Coverage
The women & girls of Irish Judo took to the mat on Sunday the 8th March 2020 on International Women’s Day – this followed a very successful Galway Open on Saturday the 7th March 2020. There was a dedicated mat for the women & girls for Randori on Sunday with over 36 women & girls on mat working hard.
The IJA was delighted to hear that through the local networks, TG4 came to visit yesterday and filmed the women & girls in action and made the 5.15pm Nuacht on TG4 yesterday evening – well done to Ellie, Sylvia, Grainne, Antoinette & Lydia plus all of the female participants, the mat was very busy yesterday. Our thanks also to Galway Judo Club for supporting the event.
Our very own Aoife O’Loughlin & Noreen O’Loughlin from Club Judo na Ceathrún Rua/Carraroe Judo Club along with Sylvia O’Flynn the IJA Development Chair spoke very well to promote our sport ‘As Gaeilge’.
